Welcoming YOU Home

T8E Blog - Welcoming YOU Home
As me move into the new year, we can feel the energy releasing and shifting. And while the energy will take another few weeks to officially arrive and settle in, we can feel that it's already beginning to show up. Our bags are packed, our travel arrangements confirmed, our itinerary plans scheduled.

And we've sent our own personal energy into our future, paving the way for our inevitable arrival at our new destination...home sweet home.

If there is light in your heart, you will find your way home.
Rumi

After visiting other houses and hosting the visiting guests for the last eight years, we are finally going home. Back to our own house and all the comforts of home. Back to a space that is all our own for an entire year.

To reclaim our sacred space we need to cleanse it in preparation to occupy it ourselves.

Cleansing Ritual

While this cleansing ritual can be done every year, it's especially meaningful at this stage in the nine year cycle when all the energies return home. You have been hosting each of The 8 Elements while they visited for an entire year. It's time to cleanse your house of their energy, clear any baggage and create a sacred space for YOU!

To cleanse your house, take a tour with a smoking stick of Palo Santo. Then, set up an altar in the direction of the house associated with your personal element. For example, North for Water, Southwest for Mother Earth.

You can find your direction in your Feng Shui for YOU! guide, available for free on the page dedicated to your personal element on this website.

Select symbols representing each of the elements and lay them out on the altar. For example: a bowl of water for Water, a rose quartz heart for Mother Earth, a small potted jade plant, herb or flower for Hard Wood, an evergreen sprig or pinecone for Soft Wood, an earthenware bowl for Yellow Earth, a bronze bust, statue or figurine for Hard Metal, a gold or silver coin for Soft Metal, an orgonite pyramid, rock or tiger's eye for Mountain Earth and a lighted votive or candle for Fire.

Then, pick up each item, cleanse it with the Palo Santo and repeat the cleansing statement:

Thank you for your visit and for your hospitality. I now return all of your energy cleansed with love and consciousness. I now reclaim all of my energy cleansed. And so it is.
Cleansing Statement

Save the symbol representing the personal element preparing to move out of your house soon, for last. For Water, it's Mother Earth. For Mother Earth, it's Hard Wood. For Hard Wood, it's Soft Wood. For Soft Wood, it's Yellow Earth. For Hard Metal, it's Soft Metal. For Soft Metal, it's Mountain Earth. For Mountain Earth, it's Fire. And for Fire, it's Water. After the cleansing ritual, thank this element for any life lessons its presence facilitated for you this year. Then, offer a blessing. (You can do this for each symbol, if you like.)

One of the best ways to roll out the welcome mat for yourself is to feng shui your home. Clean, clear and cleanse your space. Improve and enhance your property. Balance and beautify your home. Place your annual remedies and enhancements. Set your intentions. And activate your personal element's four best directions.
